Founder Of Miles Brown Asset Management
The oldest of three children, I was raised by a single mother with the collective support of my aunt and grandmother. We lived paycheck to paycheck growing up, and watching my family struggle with money proved a seminal experience for me. They did not have access to a financial expert, and suffered unnecessarily as a result. I knew that when I grew up I wanted to help ensure that they, and other people, didn’t have to face these difficulties alone any more. I was determined to help.
We were raised in an atmosphere of love, religion, and compassion. Our close bond left me with a special appreciation and respect for women who can bear down, hustle and make a life for themselves and those around them. It energizes me and drives me to want to do my absolute best for them.
My mother instilled in us the need to finish school, get a job and be good people. It’s why I can say with great confidence that I am likely among the most honest and principled people you could entrust with your wealth.
That’s also why I named my firm after my son. Because I know that I would never do anything to tarnish his name. He, and the traits instilled in me since childhood, drives me to serve in the most honorable way I can.
In addition to my work here at Miles Brown, I am deeply committed to serving my community. I’ve served as an assistant basketball coach for a local high school for the past five years. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, golf and basketball with my son, Dominic, and taking time to slow down and see the world through the eyes of my newborn daughter, Whitney.
Prior to starting Miles Brown Asset Management, I spent 10 years at Washington Mutual/JP Morgan Private Client, RBC Dain Rauscher and Wells Fargo Advisors.
I am a current member of the Silicon Valley chapter of the Financial Planning Association and I am also currently enrolled in the Personal Financial Planning certification program at the University of California, Los Angeles.
